On Committee on electric company takeover gets new chairman

ed...i think the overall point these people are making is they/we are all tired of additional taxes and assessments....yes alternatives are needed but most areas only turn to the citizens AFTER they have exhausted all avenues available...ie, trim budgets, cut staff, reign in all unnecessary spending...this water restriction surcharge is a complete joke...if a utility is granted the ability to surcharge usage if the usage is interrupted or restricted by higer powers then we are giving carte blanche to the power company, the cable company, the phone company and yes...even the landscape companies, 'cause if it rains for a week and they can't cut our grass they should be able to charge us anyway? i cannot follow the logic....help me if you can.
the free enterprise system (such as our water company) dictates...you buy your ticket, you take your chances...you need to have a business model that takes all ups and downs into account...obviously the astute folks who set up the water utility had their heads in the sand when setting this thing up.

OLDMARCOMAN....i work for a living...construction...not a millionaire, not a hundredaire....near as i can tell wayne doesn't work...at least not that i know about. i don't post a false name...you do however.
it makes no difference whether you're a millionaire or an hourly worker...taxes are taxes! and this council is a runaway train...it's too easy to pass another assessment or tax as opposed to doing the Hard work and cutting the budget/trimming down/holding on....
i would like to offer that we all try to come together to stop this craziness called tax at all costs.....and by the way....i doubt there are "high and mighty types" that waste their time posting on this sorry site.

On Letter to the Editor: Do it different

wayne....how many dollars per square mile do the two cities spend? how many stop signs and traffic lights per square mile? how many churches per square mile? how many palm trees per square mile? and....wayne i really need to know how many grains of sand are on the beaches.....none of what you expounded here makes any sense or difference....we've been taxed and assessed to death////per square mile. get a grip on what matters to the citizens...(now i'm sure issler will have something inconsequential to say about all this after he checks in with john)

it's amazing...issler makes all these comments then goes back in his shell when he's asked to clarify what he types...

On Letter to the Editor: Who’s running Marco?

ed...why can't you figure out what "i am trying to say" i thought it was fairly simple..
let me make it clear to you..
"it seems to me that john arceri has the ear of our city government, more so than any other citizen that is not in government".
i did not say a word about you writing emails to the city....unless you are john arceri in disguise.

let me quote you..."open your eyes". ed, sometimes you make alot of sense and sometimes i have to wonder where you are coming from....read the emails that are published. you must agree with at least some of what others are saying...

dear ed: have you read these emails...i have, and one thing is very apparent....arceri has, at the very least, preferred/unlimited access to the government of marco....you truly have to agree with that don't you? further it seems to me that john either 1. has some personal agenda or 2. is obsessed with control and power.
