The money was raised by the recent “Wet Paint Live” event, in which artists spent a day capturing assorted Marco scenes on canvas, and then auctioned the paintings off at a gala evening the same day. Hideaway Beach seeks tourist tax dollars to fund beach erosion control

Collier County officials are questioning whether erosion control on a private beach is something that is in the best interest of the public. The Coastal Advisory Committee (CAC) discussed the issue at a meeting on Thursday and the consensus on the board was the Hideaway Beach was an area enjoyed not only by residents of the private beach community but also by residents and tourists visiting the beach by boat. Marco Presbyterian Church hosted Daughter Dinner

Approximately sixty women were treated to a candlelight dinner, at Marco Presbyterian Church’s third annual Daughter Dinner. Soft romantic music, tables festooned with linen, lace, candles, and shell centerpieces, punch, a backdrop of shells projected on the front screen, and the new senior pastor decked out in a tuxedo greeted the women as they arrived.
