Investigation finds Plancher's UCF workout complied with NCAA rules

— Officials say an internal investigation into the death of former Lely High School football star Ereck Plancher at Central Florida shows an offseason workout he participated in did not violate NCAA rules.

UCF executive associate athletic director David Chambers says the workout Plancher went through took place within an appropriate offseason workout window.

The redshirt freshman receiver died March 18, after voluntary strength and conditioning drills. His death came one day before spring practice was originally set to begin. Spring practice was then postponed until Monday.

An autopsy was inconclusive and the Orange County Medical Examiner's office says more testing will be needed.

A visitation is scheduled for 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the First Haitian Baptist Church in East Naples and a memorial service will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday in the Lely High School Auditorium.
