Anthony Macciarolo, 12, stands beside one of his drawings on display at Tommie Barfield Elementary School. Another one of Anthony's works was selected to be on display in Senator Burt Saunders' office in Tallahassee.
Fifth-grader Anthony Macciarolo of Tommie Barfield Elementary will have artwork on display in the state capital. State Senator Burt Saunders has chosen Anthony’s work along with 20 others from Collier County schools to hang in his office in Tallahassee — Anthony’s work is the only to be chosen from Marco Island.
“I drew a print of a leaf and we had to do different colors on it,” said Anthony, 12, of his chosen artwork.
Anthony said that his favorite subject to draw was fish, which would make sense considering that his first choice as a career is to be a marine biologist. His back up plan is to be a professional football player.
