A program on abstinence, the Silver Ring Thing, sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Marco Island, will be at the Marco Island Charter Middle School on Wednesday.
The program is a concert-style show, incorporating high energy music, laser lights, fast-paced video, personal testimonies and comedy stage performances.
Heather Hassell of First Baptist Church, attended the program in North Naples and said a large crowd turned out for the program. She said it is a very positive event for teens and parents to help teens on the right path to making good choices.
The event is from 7 to 9 p.m., with doors opening at 6:15. The parent session begins at 7 p.m., lasting about 45 minutes. The parents are then encouraged to join the teens. The event is open to ages 12 to 18 and their parents.
Tickets are available online for $5 at www.silverringthing.com, or can be purchased at the door that evening for $8. At the end of the program teens may purchase a silver ring for $15 as a way to show their commitment to abstinence.
