You Review: Andrew Righter says no to Britney Spears

Andrew Righter, a senior at Golden Gate High School, was with the marching band providing food for the Bike Rodeo and Safety Fair at Mackle Park Jan. 19. Righter plans to attend Florida State University in the fall.

Do you listen to any local bands? If so what venue? No local bands. I play in a high school band and I’ve listened to all of the area high school bands. Actually, my jazz band is playing at the Naples Jazz Festival in Cambier Park on Feb. 15 and 16.
Well, thanks for the shameless promo. Who is your favorite musical artist? I like Nelly. It’s good music. He’s got a smooth voice. I’m into R & B. I’m also into Classical and Jazz.
What’s your favorite song of all time? And is there any special memory attached to that song. “All My Life” (Kanye West). It was the song to my first slow dance in high school with Rachelle Newkirk.
How sweet! Who is in your iPod or car stereo right now? Maroon 5. They’re one of my favorite bands. They have really good music.
Who is your least favorite singer or band? Britney Spears. How ya gonna have a child, then dress like a stripper on national television?
So it’s not so much her music as her personality that you don’t like. The music isn’t great either. I just think that she – and other famous singers and actress – have a responsibility to be role models for young girls.
