NAPLES A 29-year-old career criminal was arrested Thursday during a traffic stop after Collier County sheriff’s deputies say they found marijuana, cocaine and crack in his shoes.
Alex Winters, of Lehigh Acres, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
Around 8 p.m. deputies stopped Winters’ gold Cadillac after he crossed a solid white line while passing another vehicle, the Sheriff’s Office reported. When deputies approached, Winters appeared nervous and his hands were shaking.
A check of Winters’ driver license revealed that he is a career criminal with past arrests for homicide, robbery, burglary, battery and narcotics, reports said.
Deputies brought a drug-sniffing dog to the scene, which alerted on Winters’ car. Winters’ shoes were removed while he was handcuffed and detained, and inside his shoes deputies found a small bag of marijuana, a tube containing crack cocaine, and a small bag of cocaine.
