Marco Island's Lauren Embree won a pair of consolation matches on Friday at the USTA Girls 18s National Championship in Berkeley, Calif.
Embree knocked off No. 7 seed Jamie Hampton of Auburn, Ala., 6-0, 6-4. Later Friday, she beat Claire Bartlett of Chattanooga, Tenn., 7-5, 7-5.
Embree will play Kristie Ahn of Saddle River, N.J., today at 1 p.m. ET in the consolation quarterfinals. If she wins, she would play in the semifinals at 4:30 p.m. ET.
