The City Men’s Softball League concludes on Thursday night with the semifinal and final playoff championship games.
In the first game, Almost Famous Mel’s battles regular-season champ Cocomo’s at 6 p.m., followed by St. Mark’s and Nacho Mama’s at 7:15 p.m. The winners of the two games play for the championship at 8:30 p.m.
In the first round of playoff games last week, Almost Famous Mel’s defeated DaVinci’s, 12-8, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church edged Capt. Brien’s Seafood, 9-8 and Nacho Mama’s downed Sand Bar, 12-4.
Mel’s hitting barrage was led by J.P. Nachef with four hits, Glenn Walton with three and Garron Skender, Pat McGuire, Brian Kocak, Chris Quinton and Eric Smith with two hits each. Damien Shadrick, Mike Radlovacki, Mark Feola Sr. and Eric Smith had two hits each for DaVinci’s.
St. Mark’s Tim Dillingham slapped out three hits, while Patrick Baldwin, Donny Montroy and Cory Banister had two hits each. Rick Hart and Jordan Weatherbee knocked out two hits each for Capt. Brien’s.
Tony Andrade slammed three hits and Steve Pahr, Zazch Leutkemeyer, Eric Phillips, Jimmy Skeldon and Billy Hoopes added two hits each for Nacho Mama’s in the win.
