A small group of restaurateurs started the Taste of Collier 25 years ago to showcase their culinary skills, while raising money for local charities and scholarships. Today, it is a much-anticipated community-oriented event, where thousands enjoy samples of tasty treats from 30 area restaurants.

Taste of Collier will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, at Bayfront. Admission is $5, with children 5 and under free. Tasting portions from each restaurant range from $2 to $5. More than $650,000 has been raised for local charities and scholarships in total. Free parking is available nearby on the former Grand Central Station site.

Patrons will enjoy live music and an ice carving demonstration. At 1 p.m., the Waiter-Waitress race, a competition that pits teams navigating an obstacle course while balancing a bottle of wine and glasses on a tray, will be held.
