Sanitasole at Barfield, Day Services for Adults along with other national, state and community organizations, are leading a massive effort to highlight the importance of advance healthcare decision-making — an effort that has culminated in the formal designation of April 16 as National Healthcare Decisions Day.
As a participating organization, Sanitasole is providing information and tools for the public to talk about their wishes with family, friends and healthcare providers, and execute written advance directives (healthcare power of attorney and living will) in accordance with Florida state laws.
Eagle columnist, William G. Morris, Esq., will be volunteering his time and expertise in making a presentation at 218 South Barfield Drive to address the public’s misunderstanding about advance healthcare planning and advance directives and he will welcome questions from the public. The session is from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Ultimately, National Healthcare Decisions Day strives to provide much-needed information to the public, reduce the number of tragedies that occur when a patient’s wishes are unknown, and improve the ability of healthcare facilities and providers to offer informed and thoughtful guidance about advanced planning to their patients.
