The Sailing Association of Marco Island (SAMI) will have its annual Bud Light Regatta sailing races off Marco Island Residents Beach, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., April 12, with best viewing around the Residents Beach area.
This year’s regatta is dedicated to SAMI member Jim Dock who lost his life recently in a cycling accident. A ceremony in his memory will precede the start of the race. There will be a captain’s meeting on the evening of April 11, and an awards dinner on April 13.
The regatta helps support the Civil Air Patrol and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
