The Alumnae Club of Marco Island held its annual Autumn Card and Games Luncheon with a tea room fashion show by Kay’s on the Beach on Wednesday afternoon at the Marco Island Yacht Club.

Mary Stillwell was chairman of the event and ensured an unforgettable extravaganza for all. Alumnae Club President Lynne Minozzi and Vini Just checked members in at the registration table while Donna Gordon and Priscilla Penn greeted the ladies and led them to their tables. Minozzi led the prayers, then members of the club modeled clothing from Kay’s on the Beach in a walk-through fashion show while lunch was served.

Alumnae Club’s Berry Bartells, Dorothy Harkness and Arleen Soldano sold the afternoon’s raffle tickets for gifts, including baskets brimming with prizes and a 50/50 raffle. After the ladies enjoyed lunch and seeing the models sporting Kay’s on the Beach fashions, they paired off into groups to play bridge, board games and mah jongg.

“All the models looked beautiful,” Minozzi said. “And Mary Stillwell did an excellent job in putting together this whole day for us. It was a wonderful, fun-filled afternoon. And we all had a good time.”

The Alumnae Club’s next event, which is open to the public, will be a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 28 at the Island Country Club. The afternoon will include performances by Frankie Ray and Mary Ellen with a sing-along to holiday songs. And Owen O’Shonahan will perform opera songs in costume from the famed Phantom of the Opera. Anyone interested in attending can call Lynne Minozzi at 642-3836.

The Alumnae Club also welcomes the public to its annual Christmas party Dec. 7 at Hideaway Beach Club with dinner, dancing and prizes. For those interested in making table reservations, call Priscilla Penn at 642-3046.

“It’s a lovely end-of-the-year evening,” Minozzi said.

The club’s next Spring Card and Games Luncheon is scheduled to be held March 11 at the Marco Island Yacht Club.

The Alumnae Club meets at 11:30 a.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month ($23 per person). And members are reminded that January through May gatherings will be held at Konrad’s.
