Comment: “Techniques that have evolved for knee and hip replacements are much less invasive than in the past. Recovery times are much quicker, and there are other non-operative things that can be done with great success to treat arthritic conditions of the knee, hip and even the back. These we do in conjunction with the Island Rehabilitation Center of Marco and physical therapist C.K. Fernando, working with ultra-sound, certain forms of traction we use for arthritic knees and hips, and a medication we use that is a joint lubricant, and relieves discomfort. In my opinion, if people suspect something is wrong, probably 80 or 90 percent of the time they are correct, whether it’s with or without surgery” — Dr. Jeff Balazsy
