It seems like everybody and their sister is getting into the "gourmet coffee" game now - what with McDonald's making a very public statement about taking on Starbucks. And now Burger King is getting into the game with their Mocha BK JOE Iced Coffee.

I have to admit that I rarely go to Burger King - their drive-thru makes old ladies in the checkout lanes at Publix look like NASCAR drivers - but I was desperate for food Monday afternoon and swung through a Burger King somewhere in Bonita Springs.

Shocker! They've got "iced coffee" on the menu. They're calling their thing "Mocha BK JOE Iced Coffee" - which is a tongue-twister way of saying "iced mocha." It's also heavy on the calories, being just iced coffee with a chocolate syrup shot. It's good though.

Very, very good. It's better than a recent iced mocha I had at Starbucks - and I'm a proud Starbucks card holder. Plus, it's only one dollar - where the green apron chain will set you back nearly $5.

So, if you've got an iced mocha jones, hit up a local Burger King.
