The English Pub, at 2408 Linwood Avenue in Naples, is getting into the lunch delivery game.

Just announced this week, they're starting a lunch delivery service from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Monday – Friday. Call or fax orders to 775-8127 and they'll deliver. No word on how large the delivery area is, but it would probably include a good chunk of downtown.

They're serving from a special lunch menu much different from the Pub's usual offerings. No shepherd's pie here. Seven salads from $7-$9, 21 hot & cold sandwiches from $8-$9, plus soup and a small selection of English favorites like bangers & mash, fish & chips, mushy peas and corned beef & cabbage.

The downtown food delivery game already has a few well-established competitors, what with Jane's and Tropic Chill both doing a land-office business on weekdays. Near Cambier Park, Trixie's often has a line out the door and a driver leaving with half a dozen orders.

The Pub starts taking orders at 9 a.m. and there's a $15 minimum for delivery. The main English Pub number is 239-775-3727; the Web site is naplesenglishpub.com - but doesn't have any information on the lunch delivery service just yet.
