I ventured into Kirkland's yesterday and noticed they have a whole new inventory. There are many new things to perk up your decor for summer. Adding a few things like a new picture, lamp or a few accessories makes the whole room feel different and adds a spark of color. I love to change things as the season changes even if it is just new throw pillows in a different color.

Kirkland's can help you do just that very inexpensively. There was a large selection of animal prints in pillows, wall plaques, lamps, pictures, throws even mirrors trimmed in leopard. Yes, the animal prints are still popular.

I found a great selection of floor lamps and table lamps starting at $14.99 and up. A 6-foot ivy garland was only $7.99. Cut outs for the wall are big, Welcome, Family, Love, or Laugh, a large size for $7.99. There is a whole array of pillows in all colors and patterns starting at $7.99, some were two for $9.99.

Red poppies are big ... you will find them scattered all through the store. There were some great pictures of poppies, either a picture of a large flower or fields of them. What a great selection of pictures, they pack a punch on the wall. I get tired of them and want to change them so these will fit the bill as there are great prices and nicely framed and matted. $49.99 will buy a large picture, $59.99 gets you a huge picture and the big kahuna ... $99.99 buys a gigantic one! You will also find a large selection of mirrors in many different frames starting at $39.95 and up. They are having a wall event now, on select mirrors you take $10 off.

Kirkland's carries small pieces of furniture, tables, chests, interesting pieces for a foyer, even sinks in a nice cabinet. The handsome swivel bar stools were only $99.99.

There were decorative accents for any room. Candle wall sconces, two for $19.99, hammered metal stars, three at $19.99. Cute iron bicycles in three different styles only $9.99. Embossed metal squares that could be arranged in a grouping, $5.99. I loved the ceramic wall plaques with bathroom scenes, $9.99.

Large wood theater tickets, black and silver film reels, or an over-sized popcorn box with the popcorn spilling out from $19.99. Priceless!

A large selection of garden items too, bird baths, feeders, and houses. Gazing balls, angels and cherub statues, plant stands. Rubber stepping mats were $2.99 each. Some of the garden items were 50 percent off.

I saw a Power Valet, perfect for Father's Day! It charges three hand held devices at once, cell phones, PDA's, or MP3's. It has a little drawer at the bottom for extra storage. It was $59.99, now on sale for $39.99. Great deal for Dad!

Chad, the friendly manager, said they are gearing up for a big sale for Memorial day so get on down there this week end and check it out.
