Red, white and boom!
Posted June 18, 2008
The Fourth of July is just a couple weeks away so I wanted to keep you informed to where to go for your party supplies and of the festivities happening.
Our group always gathers for a party on the Fourth and each year it gets bigger. On the third we get together to watch the fireworks at Miromar. What a BLAST!
You can get all your party supplies at Party City, the Discount Party Store. Of course everything is red, white and blue or stars and stripes. Very festive! The plates, dinner or salad, bowls and cups all are on sale at 50 percent off starting at $1.49. Same price on the luncheon napkins, 50 count only $1.49. Heavy-duty cutlery of 50 count $1.99. This is great, makes clean-up a snap! Patriotic party hats are just 99 cents. If you can find someone crazy enough to dress up like Uncle Sam you can get the complete costume for $29.99. As a matter of fact we do have someone that crazy in our crowd!
Foil balloons in red, white and blue are 99 cents, some shaped like stars. Of course you have to have flags, they start at 39 cents. The star snack trays in the traditional colors are 69 cents. Red, white and blue citronella glass candle holders $1.99. They are great to put all around the edge of the pool.
You can throw a bang-up party on a small budget. Get the grill started and throw those dogs and burgers on!
Party City is located at 8070 Mediterranean Drive at Coconut Point in Estero.

Now for your entertainment! Thursday, July 3.
Miromar Outlets and Germain Arena are presenting their ninth annual fireworks show. I have seen all of them and they put on a fantastic show, I think it is the best around!
Activities begin at 5 p.m. for the kids, sponsored by the YMCA of Lee County.
From 5-7 p.m. the Mambo Brothers Blues Band performs.
Deb and the Dynamics perform at 7:30 p.m.
From 7-8 p.m. Southern Extreme Water-Ski show can be seen on the lake. They put on quite a show!
Fireworks begin at dusk. Get ready for the show and don't forget your lawn chairs or blankets. It's a fun evening, so come on out and celebrate the Red, White and Blue! Remember it is on the third ... not the fourth!
Miromar Outlets is located at exit 123 off I-75 on Miromar Outlets Blvd. in Estero. The stores will be open until 9 p.m. so you can browse while waiting for the entertainment to start.
Enjoy Red, White and BOOM!
