A new store has opened....
Posted November 19, 2007
Turkey day is just a few days away ... okay ladies start your engines...er...I mean shopping carts!! A brand new Home Goods has arrived in Cape Coral. I am sure all the Cape people are happy for this addition. And YES I did cross the bridge to go see what it was all about. All you shoppers know that Home Goods are pretty much the same lay out no matter where they are. Because this is a new store they had a very good selection of just about everything. I didn't have ANY trouble filling up my shopping cart....I even started up the second one!! Oh Lord! I need help!! I should dial 1-888-no -more-shopping!!!
I found the section of plates and decorative bowls and dishes was very good so I just picked up 16 darling Christmas plates!! Hey! I love to entertain! The Christmas decorations were simply fab! There were a lot of Santa's and snow men to choose from...one of those little buggers just hopped into my cart!
It seems the lamp section was a little larger than the other Home Goods stores. If you have a fisherman on your list there was a darling lamp with a fishing pole bent over with the big catch. Perfect for his den. I found two lamps that looked like coral for the bases and two more that had anchors for the base and a shades that looks like a treasure map. Perfect for the house I'm decorating on the beach. See, it wasn't all for me!
There is a very large selection in the bedding department. I find that is the hardest thing to locate...great bedding. The towels were big and thirsty, east to color co-ordinate with the bedding. Every color you can imagine. Good bath accessories too.
Of course I always like to look through the tchotchkes and pictures....Ka-Ching...there I go again!
There are some good buys on the furniture but they have a limited supply. If you find a chair you like and want another it is unlikely you will find it. But you might run across that perfect piece and the prices are great.
Lots of area rugs, candles, baskets, and kitchen ware. I enjoyed the couple hours I spent there.
Just next door is a new Belk store, a big one too. On the other side of Home Goods is a Kirkland's for your home. However Kirkland's was not opened yet.
If you go Home Goods is located in the Shops at Surfside....don't know how they came up with that one...it isn't even close to the water! However it is 2354 Surfside Blvd. Suite 105 in Cape Coral. Phone 283-5616.
Happy Shopping!
