Last week my daughter-in-law was visiting from Canada and wanted to go to a day spa. I had made appointments a week prior for each of us to get an hour massage and a facial. The facials were all booked up so we went for our massage.

You always feel wonderful after a massage. The price was $70, plus a 20 percent tip. It was worth it and I didn't want to leave after my hour was up!

I checked into other services while I was there. It is owned by master hair designers James Adams and his partner Scott Wilburn. It offers a complete day spa with luxury services from hair design to massage.

They have a five tier pricing structure on hair from a cut, color, perms and deep conditioning.

The five tiers are with an associate designer being the least expensive for a $35 cut for women and $25 for men. The next tier is designer, next senior designer then master and the highest tier is art director ( I am not sure what that means but it is the most expensive!) Men at $55 and women at $65 for a cut.

Color is priced in the same way ranging from $45 to $120, depending on what you want done. Perms range from $60 to $125. And treatments such as deep conditioning are $15.

They also offer cosmetic consultation and application. Always important for new brides ... they want their make-up done for the big day.

They do nails, manicures or pedicures, maybe polish only at $8. A full set of fiberglass & acrylic nails ranges $60 to $70.

A standard facial for one hour runs $70. Ummmm ... that would feel good!

Endermologic is offered and is a unique, non-invasive way of shaping your body to reduce the appearance of cellulite. They recommend a package of 14 treatments for $1200.

Also available are body wraps and waxing and of course what I went in for, the massage any where from a half hour to one and a half hours. You can get a therapeutic massage or a pregnancy massage, reflexology or hot stone therapy.

It's nice to have all these treatments offered under one roof. They also have day packages from $235 to $360. Gift cards are available.

I felt wonderful when I came out but I have to admit it is not as elegant as a spa day at the Coconut Hyatt! A little pricey but I LOVED it there! I found a bargain spa ... haven't been there yet but will let you know how that is after I go.

James Scott Salon and Day Spa is located at 20400 Trailside Drive in Estero, just off U.S. 41 before you get to Broadway. They are open Monday through Saturday. The phone number is 415-2225.
