It's just beachy!
Tropical Toys and Treats...on Fort Myers Beach!
While going to the beach this week I stopped in this beach store out of curiosity, as they had some pretty cool wind socks hanging in front. I learned from the very friendly sales gal, Laurie, that these fly out the door, they just can't keep them in stock!
One is Beach Betty and the other is Beach Bum! I think everybody across the street at Red Coconut had one of them flying from their mobile homes!!!
I was amazed at what I found in this unique store...island gifts galore!! The owner's daughter is very talented and hand-paints on glassware. Wine glasses to serving pieces from palm trees, flamingos, fish, beach chairs, anything you'd like. Very professional!
Speaking of artists, I found wonderful hand-painted pictures by local artist Donna Elias ready for framing at only $11.99!! Another artist, Robert Rigaux, had his work featured. Also very good!
There were unusual lights of birds, mermaids and butterflies. Some looked mosaic...beautiful!
Another hot item was magic T-shirts with shells, sharks, pirates and more that change colors in the sunlight for $16.99...amazing!!
There was a big selection of Jibbitz for Crocks at $2.69. You simply push them through the holes...I think the kids would want them all! Also crock "look-alikes" that looked like alligators with eyes and teeth, what little boy wouldn't like those?
Cute were the bikini thumb tacks for $2.49. I loved the "Girl's Night Out" napkins! And the butterfly magnets that looked like real butterflies. Every kind of shell imaginable and shell jewelry. I liked the toe rings at $2.99.
How about a teeny-tiny silky top that looks like it would fit a doll baby...called stretchers...they come in all colors and amazingly fit ALL for $11.99.
The kids clothes were darling in sun dresses, bathing suits and an assortment of little outfits. For big people were sarongs, beach cover-ups, towels, beach bags and all kinds of beach toys. Beach chairs, big and small.
There were shelves of mermaids, flamingos, frogs. All kinds of cute gifts. Beachy pot holders and tea towels.
Coconut patties from $3.99, local jams, jellies and marmalades for $2.49.
A kid's section filled with toys, puzzles, games and lots of books about the beach. A huge selection of big puppets for $41.99. I haven't seen these anywhere!
My favorite was a beach lounge by Ostrich that had a padded hole in the top so you can lay on your stomach and read!!! How 'bout that!!
Remember when you were a kid and went to the drug store for a root beer float at the soda fountain? GUESS WHAT? They have a soda fountain and Laurie fixed me the best ever root beer float!!! Ice cream is from Royal Scoop...Yummm!
This store has too much to mention, just remember to stop the next time you are going to the beach, it is worth the trip!
