The Savvy Shopper

A laugh at a card shop

Posted April 3, 2007

Feeling down in the dumps? Grab a friend and go to the card and gift shop I stumbled across this week. It is called Cards Anyone, located at 3300 Bonita Beach Rd., in the plaza with Bealls and Publix. They have the best selection of cards around!

I laughed my head off at some of the crazy cards I found there! Pretty soon I had everybody in the store laughing...they had to come see what card was THAT funny!!

Went in to buy a card for my grandchild and came out with TWO bags full! Now I have them for the entire year in my address book. The cards start at an amazing $.59 -- how do they do that? Many at $.89 but the really funny ones are about $2 to $3 but worth it.

How do they think of this stuff!! They also have a good assortment of over-the-hill gag gifts. I picked one up for my friend Marion -- hope she thinks it is as funny as I do!

The store has a post office in the back that doesn't "up" their prices like some of the package stores do. They will even pack it for you! I found you can buy boxes of every size, even the peanuts for packing, at very reasonable prices. You will also find wrapping paper and any color tissue paper by the sheet for that special package, and pretty bags to pack your gift in.

Many little gifts to browse through.

I spent an hour or so with my sister trying to see who could find the funniest card...we both killed ourselves laughing...came out of there feeling really good. So go! Have a really good laugh and pick up some cards while you are there. The staff is very friendly and doesn't charge extra for the entertainment!

Personally shopped for you! Find more shopping news in the Banner's Shopping section.
