Fishing really getting good last week, but start of this week has the North Winds Blowing again.

The Snook are really starting to kick into high gear around the passes and beaches from Marco to Naples. Tarpon atre showing themselves south of Caxambas Pass and all the way up the coast to Boca Grande.
Fished fly for most of all Last week and my clients caught and released lots of Snook of all sizes. This was the first week were we were getting consistent 20 plus fish days on fly, for anglers of all levels. Fishing was better in the Afternoons over the mornings, and nights were red hot. This is typical for a Full Moon period. Tarpon on fly has been a little dissapointing though. We are getting some shots each day, but not lots of them. My anglers are not having much luck landing the fish we have eat though. We have had tough times this week getting a hook set and not losing fish on the 1st jump. Big or small they all seem to be throwing or pulling to hook.
Bait fishing still on for Tarpon and Snook. The baits have been running on the larger size, so have the fish that have been eating them. Tarpon in the Passes around Marco have been consistently hooking up on the large big eyes that we have been netting on the markers.
This weeks fishing going to be a little tough thru Wednesday. Yet another late season front has blown in and left us high pressure and windy conditions. Try to stay out of it by hitting the backs of the bays and creeks and you should get into some action. Not going to be brisk, you will have to work for your strikes, I'm afraid. Just make them count and you will do alright. Good Casting Rz.
