Fishing this week should be very good!!
Posted March 5, 2007
Fished most of the last couple days offshore, were we caught Amberjack on the towers along with some nice Mangrove Snapper, some Cudas and lost some hard fought battles to the Goliath. We also caught some beautiful Black Grouper but all had to be released. We heard reports of Permit and Cobia but for the three days we fished offshore we saw neither.
Inshore fishing this week should be pretty good all things considered. We are starting off chilly but it shouldn't mess the fish up to much. Fished today with live shrimp, white bait was unatainable. We had a good trip with lots of action on small Snook, caught some nice keeper Snapper and Redfish along with a lot that were under slot. I am fishing fly the rest of the week wich I am looking foward too. With the shallow water and clear banks the sight fishing should be good and fishing should be steady on the inside bays and flats. With the water warming you need to start looking for the Big Tarpon to show up in some of there haunts in Rookery and Johnson Bays. If the wind lays down they should be available.
Don't forget about the Bass in the Everglades they are stating to turn on and catches are increasing to almost hundred fish days. Interceptor canal seems to be red hot right now.
