Weather Turned Cold so went the Fishing.
Posted February 2, 2007
Could it blow any harder this week, i submit it would be hard to believe. I had a hard time setting an anchor the wind blew so hard a couple of days. Forget the power pole. Well, Fly fished one day with a couple of small Snook and some Jack Crevalle to show for it. We looked for Reds but the waters were so stirred up we spooked em before we could see them. Even the fish in the channels were tricky to get to bite. We caught some alternate species like Jacks and ladyfish on tipped jigs but it wasn't an automatic bite. Looks like we are in for some more cold to come this weekend and into next week. I think by next week the fish should start to acclimate a little more with the colder water temps and should want to feed a little. On a brighter note the night fishing for Snook was still productive, not as great as it was but we still were able to catch them on Fly. Hope the weather gets a little more stable next week and we might be back into good fishing again. Good Luck and Good Casting Roan z.
