Naples and Marco Island Fishing Report

Teperatures Rise Again throwing the Fish for a Loop.

Posted November 30, 2006

Fishing Fly this week has been a serious challenge. It is not that the fish aren't their, I am seeing Snook and Reds everywhere, they just won't eat the flies we are throwing at them. Well this happens! Good news for the fly fisherman, The Ladyfish are everywhere and I know they aren't the most glamorous of fishes but they do bend the pole.

On the brighter side of fishing this week; Fishing with Tipped Jigs and Live Shrimp has been producing lots of fish. We have been having a varied mixed bag, catches that have included: Redfish, Snook, Snapper, Pompano, Trout, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Flounder, Jacks and Ladyfish just to mention a few. Find a channel edge and the fish seem to be there.

For you die hard live bait fisherman there is still some white bait on the beaches off Keywaydin Island and at the nearshore wrecks. The winds have been a little tough to get offshore but if you do there are a lot of fish to catch. The wrecks still have some lingering kingfish along with Spanish and False Albacore to beat the band. On the Nearshore wrecks it has seemed like the Bluefish are bigger this year. Don't forget to run the Trap lines for Trippletail I have seen some nice one's come into the dock this week.

The Most important thing is to get out there and have some fun.

Good Casting Roanz.
