Appliance Recycling
Posted November 18, 2007
If you don't want your old appliances to go to the dump when your new ones arrive consider sending them to a Steel Recycler.
Appliances are typically 75% steel by weight and very recyclable. You can have your appliances recycled at the same place that recycles your steel cans.
The Steel Alliance and the Steel Recycling Institute have an online database of 30,000 recycling options across the country.
Just fill out a simple form on their website and recycling locations in your area will be email to you. Their web address is www.recycle-steel.org. If you need immediate assistance you can call 1-800-876-7274 x 201.
Here in Collier County you can call 239-252-2380 up to 48 hours before your scheduled recycling day pick-up to have your old appliances recycled.
